If you last looked at Semrush pricing in 2025, your numbers are out of date.
The SEO plan still costs $139.95 a month. Guru and Business, though, are gone from the pricing page. Pro+ and Advanced replaced them with the same SEO limits and AI search tracking bolted on.
Each one costs about $49 a month more.
We read the refund policy too, and one line in it should change how you pay.
What does Semrush pricing look like in real dollars?
Semrush costs $139.95 a month for its SEO plan, $199 for Starter, $299 for Pro+ and $549 for Advanced. Billed yearly, that drops to $117.33, $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67 a month.
There’s also a free plan and custom Enterprise pricing. Starter, Pro+ and Advanced bundle AI search tracking, which Semrush sells as Semrush One.

What does each Semrush plan include?
Each step up buys more projects, tracked keywords and crawl budget, plus a few features you can’t get lower down.
SEO plan: $139.95 a month
Semrush pitches it at freelancers and small businesses, and this time the marketing line fits.
You get 5 projects, 500 keywords tracked daily, 100,000 pages crawled a month and 10,000 results per report. What’s missing is historical data, Looker Studio and any AI tracking.
Starter: $199 a month
Starter is the SEO plan plus AI visibility: 50 custom prompts tracked daily and 300 AI reports a day.
Semrush aims it at “small teams and agencies growing across organic search and AI.” The SEO limits don’t grow at all, though.
Pro+: $299 a month
Pro+ is where agencies land. You get 15 projects, 1,500 keywords, 300,000 pages a month and 30,000 results per report.
It adds historical data back to 2012, Looker Studio and JavaScript rendering. You also get keyword cannibalization checks, Topics and 100 AI prompts a day.
Advanced: $549 a month
Advanced lifts the limits to 40 projects, 5,000 keywords and 1 million pages a month.
It’s the only plan with Share of Voice and API access. It also adds migration from third-party tools and 200 AI prompts a day.
Enterprise: custom pricing
Large organizations can ask for a custom Enterprise deal. Semrush doesn’t publish its price.
Power users should also check the limits that rarely make the pricing cards:
| Plan | Results per report | Reports per day | Keyword updates a month | Pages per audit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEO | 10,000 | 3,000 | 250 | 20,000 |
| Starter | 10,000 | 3,000 | 250 | 20,000 |
| Pro+ | 30,000 | 5,000 | 1,000 | 20,000 |
| Advanced | 50,000 | 10,000 | 5,000 | 100,000 |
Here’s a handy way to compare plans: what one tracked keyword costs you. It’s $0.28 a month on SEO, $0.40 on Starter, $0.20 on Pro+ and $0.11 on Advanced.
Every plan includes one user and three scheduled PDF reports. Every plan also gets MCP access, so AI assistants like Claude can pull your Semrush data.

What changed in Semrush pricing since 2025?
The SEO plan’s price hasn’t moved: it’s been $139.95 a month since at least December 2024. Almost everything around it has.
- October 29, 2025: Semrush One launches, bundling SEO and AI visibility, from $165 a month billed yearly.
- November 19, 2025: Adobe agrees to buy Semrush for about $1.9 billion.
- April 28, 2026: Adobe completes the deal.
- By August 2026: Guru and Business disappear from the pricing page, replaced by Pro+ and Advanced.
Smaller changes landed along the way. The AI Toolkit became the AI Visibility Toolkit, Local dropped to two tiers, and the Agency Growth Kit was discontinued.
Here’s the catch: you’re paying for AI search tracking
Starter costs $59.05 more than the SEO plan for the exact same SEO limits. The difference is AI visibility: 50 tracked prompts a day.
Higher up, it’s the same story. Pro+ costs $299 where Guru cost $249.95, and Advanced costs $549 where Business cost $499.95.
The SEO limits didn’t move. You’re paying $49.05 a month for AI tracking, whether you use it or not.
Is AI tracking worth an extra $50 a month?
Yes, if clients ask how they show up in ChatGPT or Google’s AI answers. If you only care about Google rankings, it isn’t.
Our take: if you want AI tracking, Starter is the cheapest route to it. The SEO plan plus the $99 AI Visibility Toolkit costs $238.95 for half the prompts. If you don’t want AI tracking, Starter’s extra $59 buys you nothing.

What do extra users cost?
Every plan includes one user. Each extra seat costs $45 a month on SEO and Starter, $80 on Pro+ and $100 on Advanced.
Want that teammate to see AI Visibility data too?
That’s another $99 per user, on top of the seat.
A team of three on Pro+ pays $459 a month, not $299.
What do Semrush’s add-on toolkits cost?
Seven specialist toolkits sit on top of the main plans. They run from $20 a month for Social to $289 for Traffic & Market.
| Toolkit | Price | What it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| AI Visibility | $99/mo per domain | Brand mentions in ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity |
| Traffic & Market | $289/mo | Competitor traffic and market research |
| Local | $30 or $60/mo per location | Listings, reviews and local rankings |
| Content | $60/mo | AI-assisted articles and SEO content boosts |
| Social | $20 to $250/mo | Scheduling and analytics; influencer tools on Business |
| Advertising | $99 or $220/mo | PPC and product-listing research; AdClarity on Pro |
| AI PR | $149 to $499/mo | Semrush’s PR toolkit, in three tiers |
Unlike the main plans, these toolkits cost the same billed monthly or yearly. There’s no 17% discount here.
Reports cost extra too. More base PDF reports run $10 a month, and branded, white-label reports cost $20.
Do you need any of them?
Most bloggers don’t. Local suits businesses with physical locations, and Content suits teams publishing at volume. If on-page optimization is the goal, compare it with our Surfer SEO review.
ImpactHero is gone too. Its old page now redirects to the Semrush homepage.
If competitor traffic is all you need, weigh Traffic & Market’s $289 against our Similarweb pricing breakdown first.
What do real Semrush setups cost?
A solo blogger pays $139.95 a month. An agency of two on Pro+ pays $379, and a four-person team with the API starts at $849.
| Setup | What you buy | Monthly bill |
|---|---|---|
| Solo blogger, 3 sites, Google only | SEO plan | $139.95 ($117.33 yearly) |
| Freelancer who also tracks AI answers | Starter plan | $199 ($165.17 yearly) |
| Agency of two, 12 client sites | Pro+ and 1 extra user | $379 |
| Local business with 3 locations | SEO plan and Local Pro for 3 locations | $319.95 |
| In-house team of four with the API | Advanced and 3 extra users | $849 plus API units |
API access is the one cost we can’t put a number on. Semrush sells API units in packages of 2 million to 20 million units, but it doesn’t publish the price.
Unused API units expire, so buy the smallest package first.

Is there a free way to use Semrush?
Yes. The free plan gives you 10 reports a day, 1 project and 10 tracked keywords, with no card needed.
Is the free plan enough?
For checking a competitor or two each day, yes. For running SEO on a real site, no.
The 7-day trial is the better test. It gives you a paid plan for a week. But it needs a card, works only once and blocks data exports.
Remember that refund line? Here it is: monthly plans get no refunds. Semrush’s 7-day money-back guarantee covers first-time annual subscriptions only.
How to try Semrush without a surprise bill
-
Step 1 of 5
Start on the free plan
Run your own domain and two competitors through Domain Overview. See whether the data is worth paying for.
-
Step 2 of 5
Start the 7-day trial on the plan you'd buy
Semrush places a refundable $1 hold on your card. You can use the trial only once.
-
Step 3 of 5
Plan your test around no exports
Exports are switched off during the trial, so judge the data on screen.
-
Step 4 of 5
Cancel before day 7, or decide
The trial turns into the plan you picked unless you cancel it.
-
Step 5 of 5
Go yearly only once you're sure
Annual billing saves up to 17%, and only annual purchases get the 7-day money-back guarantee.
Can you get a Semrush discount?
Annual billing is the only discount everyone gets: up to 17% off the main plans.
Nonprofits get a discount on annual subscriptions. Accredited colleges and universities can use Semrush free for 3 months, though there’s no plan for individual students.
We didn’t find a coupon code on Semrush’s own pages. Be wary of any code that promises more than the annual saving.
Semrush vs Ahrefs vs SE Ranking vs Moz Pro: who’s cheaper for your job?
At entry level, Moz Pro is cheapest at $99 a month, and SE Ranking tracks the most keywords for $129. Semrush’s SEO plan costs the most of the four, at $139.95.
Ahrefs Lite runs on credits, so heavy use costs extra. SE Ranking’s 2,000 daily tracked keywords are hard to beat if rank tracking is your main job.

Our take: for rank tracking on a budget, SE Ranking wins. For an all-round suite with AI tracking built in, Semrush earns its premium.

Which Semrush plan should you pick?
- Pick the free plan if you check a few competitors a week, because 10 reports a day covers it.
- Pick SEO for up to 5 sites and a Google focus, because it has every core tool without the AI surcharge.
- Pick Starter for AI tracking on up to 5 sites, because it costs less than adding the $99 AI toolkit.
- Pick Pro+ for an agency with 6 to 15 sites, because you get historical data, Looker Studio and 1,500 keywords.
- Pick Advanced only for the API or Share of Voice, because nothing else it adds goes beyond bigger limits.
How we checked these numbers (and what we didn’t)
Short version: from Semrush’s own pages, on October 12, 2026.
We read the pricing page in both its monthly and annual views. We also checked Semrush’s knowledge base, refund policy and tax pages.
Competitor prices come from Ahrefs, SE Ranking and Moz, checked the same day.
We didn’t buy a new plan for this update, so we can’t tell you how well the AI prompts perform. Our Semrush review covers the tools themselves.
Prices change, and Semrush now belongs to Adobe, which completed its acquisition in April 2026. Our editorial policy explains how we keep pages like this current.
Frequently asked questions
Is Semrush worth the price for a small blog?
Only if search traffic pays your bills. For a hobby blog, the free plan and Semrush’s free tools, which need no sign-up, cover the basics. Once SEO drives real revenue, the $139.95 SEO plan pays for itself fast.
What happened to the Semrush Guru and Business plans?
They no longer appear on Semrush’s pricing page. Its knowledge base still lists them under SEO Classic, at $249.95 and $499.95 a month. Pro+ and Advanced replaced them for new buyers, with the same SEO limits plus AI tracking.
Does Semrush offer refunds?
Only on first-time annual subscriptions and first-time add-ons, and only if you ask in writing within 7 days. Monthly plans get no refunds, and payments from a converted trial aren’t covered either.
Is Semrush cheaper than Ahrefs?
Not at entry level: Ahrefs Lite costs $129 a month against $139.95 for Semrush SEO. But Lite gives each user 1,000 credits, extra credits cost $50 per 500, and Ahrefs offers no free trial.
Did Semrush prices change after Adobe bought it?
Adobe closed the deal on April 28, 2026. Semrush told customers there would be no changes to existing contracts at this time. The pricing page was restructured during 2026, but Semrush hasn’t tied that to the deal.
Is the Semrush API included in any plan?
Full API access needs the Advanced plan and a separate package of 2 million to 20 million API units. Starter and Pro+ include 50,000 API units, but only for MCP use with AI assistants.
Can I pay for Semrush in my own currency?
No. Semrush prices everything in US dollars and adds VAT, GST or sales tax where required. It takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and UnionPay, with wire transfers on request.
Does Semrush have student or nonprofit discounts?
Nonprofits can get a discount on annual plans. Accredited colleges and universities get Semrush free for 3 months, but there’s no individual student plan.
The bottom line on Semrush pricing
Semrush pricing starts at $139.95 a month for SEO alone and climbs to $549 for the API. Every plan above the first now bundles AI tracking.
- Most bloggers and small businesses: the SEO plan.
- Agencies juggling clients: Pro+, plus a seat for each teammate.
- Anyone still deciding: the free plan, then the 7-day trial.
Your next step: run your own site through the free plan today. Then start the trial only on the plan you’d keep.
