LeEco set Indian smartphone market on fire before a few months with their feature-rich midrange phone called Le 1S. Though it was their first product into the Indian market, the smartphone was sold like a hotcake.
After the big success of Le 1S, the company launched a set of smartphones recently among which we can take LeEco 2 as the successor of 1S.
So today, you will be reading the comparison between both the phones from LeEco 1S.
LeEco Le 1S vs. LeEco 2
I have classified this comparison into several segments so that, you will not find it inconvenient to read a long post in one stretch.
Design
Both the LeEco phones sport a unibody metal design that no one regrets the purchase. The main difference lies in the placement of the camera. In Le 1S, it was placed on the left top end of the phone’s back with the rounded fingerprint sensor in the middle while in LeEco 2 the camera pore gets a bit wide and was placed above the squared fingerprint scanner.
You can’t find a 3.5 mm headphone jack on LeEco 2.
Display
Both the phones have 5.5 inches full HD screen and they won’t differ in quality either.
Performance
The biggest change was brought in the performance segment. The first phone has a MediaTek X10 octa-core processor. On the other hand, LeEco 2 is powered by MediaTek X20 deca-core processor. Yeah, deca-core in a smartphone!
Both the phones has a 3 GB RAM under the hood to power up the multi tasking.
Storage
The biggest con I found in LeEco phones is the lack of expandable storage. It is true that they have 32 GB inbuilt storage. But you will see it filling soon if you are more of a selfie addict or photography freak.
Camera
We all have seen in the past few years that the smartphone cameras is significantly improved that you no longer need a DSLR for a picture with decent quality.
The two phones have got good primary and secondary camera but the successor wins here with its 16 MP rear and 8 MP front sensors. It is 13 MP and 5 MP respectively in LeEco 2.
You won’t find it impossible to record 4K videos on both the phones. And, the lenses have an f/2.0 aperture as well.
Software
Le 1S is running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with the company’s custom EUI on top. And, in LeEco 2, you will find Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The company follows an app-drawer-less approach following the footstep of MIUI. You don’t find any major issues regarding the interface. The company is working on the interface and all the UI related issues will be solved if any.
Connectivity
Both the phones have been launched with all the major connectivity options. You will find Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and GPS. The remarkable fact is the lack of headphone jack on LeEco 2. Instead, you will see a USB C audio port supporting CDLA (Continual Digital Loseless Audio) technology for the crisp and clear playback.
Battery
Both the phones are identical in battery; 3000 mAh is all what you get. You can’t call it the best but not the poor too.
Pricing and Availability
The first phone costs you 9999 whereas the successor’s price is 10,999. And, both the phones are sold exclusively via Flipkart.
